This privacy notice explains how and why we collect, use, and look after your personal information. It applies when you use our website (https://hypegym.co.uk), become a member of our gym, or use our mobile app (available on Google Play and the Apple App Store).
This notice does not form part of our Terms and Conditions and is simply here to keep you informed.

Why We Collect Your Data and Our Legal Bases
We only collect limited personal information and always for clear, specific purposes. These are:

Where We Use Consent – and Your Right to Withdraw
We will only send you marketing emails or text messages if you have actively opted in to the various channels separately. You can:
– Unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails,
– Email us at info@hypegym.co.uk or
– Ask a member of staff to unsubscribe you
Withdrawing consent will not affect any messages sent before your withdrawal.
Who We Share Your Information With
We do not sell your data. However, we do use trusted third-party service providers to help deliver parts of our service:
– PandaDocs – to handle electronic signatures on membership contracts
– SendGrid – for email communications (including marketing, if opted in)
– Payment Provider – to process membership payments (we never see or store your card details)
Each of these providers is required to protect your data and only use it as we instruct them.
International Transfers
Some of our providers may store data outside the UK. Where this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as:
– The country has an adequacy decision from the UK Government, or
– Standard contractual clauses are used to ensure protection
You can ask us for more detail at any time.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your personal data only as long as necessary. Typically:
– Membership data: kept for the duration of your membership and up to 6 years after for legal and tax reasons
– Marketing consent records: retained until you withdraw consent, and then a record of suppression is kept to make sure we don’t accidentally re-add you to active lists.
– Enquiries (non-members): deleted within 12 months unless you join
Your Data Protection Rights
You have the following rights under UK GDPR:
- Right to access – ask us for a copy of your personal data
- Right to rectification – ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure – in some circumstances, ask us to delete your data where we no longer need it
- Right to restrict processing – in some circumstances ask us to limit how we use your data
- Right to object – to certain uses (such as direct marketing)
- Right to data portability – in some circumstances to request your data in a format you can move elsewhere

Do You Have to Give Us Your Data?
To become a member, we do need some personal data (such as your name and email address) so we can enter into and manage your membership contract. If you choose not to provide it, we may not be able to offer you our services.
Automated Decision-Making
We do not use your data to make any automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Where We Get Your Data From
All personal data we collect comes directly from you – whether you are making an enquiry, signing up as a member, or using our app or website.
